Regular Season Round 14: AE Sedis - Gipuzkoa UPV 58-54

Another exciting game was played in Seu D'urgell between eighth ranked AE Sedis and higher ranked Gipuzkoa UPV where host AE Sedis (7-7) won against Gipuzkoa UPV (8-6) 58-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa UPV. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gipuzkoa UPV won third quarter 11-4. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Yurena Diaz (178-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Marta Montoliu (182-94) contributed with 8 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Argentinian Lyndra Weaver added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gipuzkoa UPV. Gipuzkoa UPV's coach Aranzazu Muguruza rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AE Sedis maintains eighth position with 7-7 record, which they share with Al-Qazeres and Araski. Gipuzkoa UPV at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Gernika and Sant Adria. AE Sedis will play against Campus Promete (#13) in Logrono in the next round where they are favorite. Gipuzkoa UPV will play at home against Sant Adria (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
