Regular Season Round 19: Bayi - Xinjiang 74-73

There was a change at the WCBA leadership position after last games. Round 19 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Xinjiang (14-5). They were edged by sixth ranked Bayi Kylin (10-9) 74-73 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Xinjiang. It was a great shooting night for Bayi Kylin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. It was a great evening for center Zhenqi Pan (190-95) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) helped adding 17 points and 5 assists. Five Bayi Kylin players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Siyue Qiu (177-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Bayi Kylin moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jiangsu. Xinjiang at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Shanxi XR. They were replaced at the leadership position by Beijing. Xinjiang will play next round against Shaanxi Tianze trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Bayi Kylin will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Zhejiang Far East in Hangzhou.
