Regular Season Round 11: Al Sadd - Al Wakrah 70-94

The game in Doha supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Al Wakrah (7-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Al Sadd (5-5). Al Wakrah smashed Al Sadd 94-70 on Sunday. Al Wakrah made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Al Sadd only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded Al Sadd 34-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Wakrah looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Marcus Johnson-Jr (180-95, college: UALR) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 assists and 5 steals. American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman) helped adding 25 points and 9 rebounds. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. Al Wakrah's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Albanian forward Mike Moser (203-90, college: Oregon) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Dee Oldham (193-94, college: Chattanooga) scored 21 points. Al Wakrah have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Qatar Club. Loser Al Sadd keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Al Wakrah will meet Qatar Sports Club (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Arabi.
