Regular Season Round 20: Toyota Alvark - Chiba Jets 57-56

Important game to mention about took place in Tokyo. First ranked Toyota Alvark (22-6) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-ranked Chiba Jets (19-9) 57-56 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Chiba Jets. They outrebounded Chiba Jets 44-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Toyota Alvark brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of international Yudai Baba (193-95) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) who added 6 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Toyota Alvark's coach Luka Pavicevic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Toyota Alvark maintains first position with 22-6 record, which they share with SeaHorses. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the second place with nine games lost. Toyota Alvark will play against league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chiba Jets will play against Yokohama BC and hope to get back on the winning track.
