Very important is a home loss of third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (18-10) against fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (18-10) on Sunday night. Host Hitachi Sunrockers were defeated by Toshiba Thunders in Tokyo 86-68. Toshiba Thunders shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Hitachi SR. Toshiba Thunders' next round opponent will be Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against the league's second-placed San-en NeoPhoenix in Hamamatsu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
