Liga Endesa top team - Real Madrid (13-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Movil Estudiantes (5-8) 96-89. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Movil Estudiantes won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Real Madrid outrebounded Movil Estudiantes 45-32 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international Felipe Reyes (204-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. American-Israeli swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia) produced 29 points and 5 rebounds and American center Alec Brown (216-92, college: Green Bay) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Madrid have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. Movil Estudiantes at the other side keeps the twelfth place with eight games lost. Real Madrid will meet Joventut (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Movil Estudiantes will play against Zaragoza and hope to secure a win.
