Not a big story in a game in Capo d'Orlando where 10th ranked Betaland Cdo (5-8) was rolled over by fourth ranked Umana Venezia (9-4) 91-59 on Tuesday. Umana Venezia had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Croatian forward Hrvoje Peric (203-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Lithuanian swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Umana Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Lithuanian Arnoldas Kulboka (207-98) responded with 14 points and naturalized American guard Mirza Alibegovic (197-92, agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 9-4 record. Loser Betaland Cdo dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Umana Venezia will face VL Pesaro (#15) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Betaland Cdo will play against MIA-RO Cantu (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
