Regular Season Round 23: Qingdao E. - Beijing D. 81-94

There was no surprise in Qingdao where 16th ranked Eagles (7-16) were defeated by ninth ranked Beijing Ducks (14-9) 94-81 on Tuesday. Beijing Ducks made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Eagles' players. The best player for the winners was Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) produced 28 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Beijing Ducks and five Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beijing Ducks moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Eagles lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Gold Lions (#18) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play on the road against Sturgeons in Jinjiang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
