Regular Season Round 22: Salon Vilpas - KTP Basket 88-68

Leader Salon Vilpas delivered the eighteenth victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked KTP-Basket (9-13) 88-68. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Javontae Hawkins (196-93, college: Fordham, agency: Two Points) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Teemu Rannikko (189-80) chipped in 9 points and 13 assists during the contest. Four Salon Vilpas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-92, college: Kent St.) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salon Vilpas (18-4) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser KTP-Basket keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Salon Vilpas will meet league's second-placed Kouvot in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KTP-Basket will have a break next round.
