Regular Season Round 22: Kataja Basket - BC Nokia 86-88

The most exciting game of round 22 in the Korisliiga took place in Joensuu. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Joensuun Kataja (11-8) to eighth ranked BC Nokia (10-11) 88-86 on Wednesday evening. Joensuun Kataja was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 21-15 charge of BC Nokia, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. BC Nokia had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Jarekious Bradley (196-90, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall, agency: Inception Sports) added 16 points and 12 assists respectively for lost side. Four Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. BC Nokia moved-up to seventh place. Defending champion Joensuun Kataja keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. BC Nokia are looking forward to face higher ranked Kauhajoki (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Joensuun Kataja will have a break next round.
