Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi Ashdod - Bnei Hertzeliya 95-87

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Maccabi Ashdod's (4-7) home victory over bottom-ranked Bnei Hasharon (2-9) 95-87 on Thursday. Bnei Hasharon trailed by 19 points after 3 quarters before a 31-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 87-95 at the end of the game. Maccabi Ashdod made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Maccabi Ashdod outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 34-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). American guard Cameron Long (192-88, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Triche (193-91, college: Syracuse) scored 21 points. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Maccabi Ashdod moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Maccabi Haifa. Bnei Hasharon lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home higher ranked Galil Gilboa (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bnei Hasharon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in Nes Ziyona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
