There was no surprise in Tel Aviv where 9th ranked B.Yehuda (2-13) was crushed by seventh ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (8-7) 83-62 on Thursday. Hap.Petah Tikva outrebounded B.Yehuda 43-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for American center Shakeya Leary (189-90, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. Point guard Hadar Kalim (175-93) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Hap.Petah Tikva players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Shir Levy (176-97, agency: Blue and White) scored 11 points. B.Yehuda's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hap.Petah Tikva. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Elitzur Ramla and Maccabi Raanana. B.Yehuda lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with H.R. Le-Zion. Hap.Petah Tikva will meet at home Ramat Hasharon (#8) in the next round. B.Yehuda will play against Maccabi Raanana and hope to secure a win.
