The game in Hangzhou was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Golden Stars (17-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Golden Bulls (14-10). Golden Stars defeated Golden Bulls 113-97 on Friday. Golden Stars made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Golden Stars made 8 blocks. The winners were led by American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: N.Carolina) who scored that evening 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) supported him with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Golden Stars players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds by American forward Jarnell Stokes (201-94, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Golden Bulls. International guard Qian Wu (190-94) added 29 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Golden Stars moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangdong ST. Loser Golden Bulls dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Golden Stars will meet at home Jilin Tigers (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Golden Bulls will play against Eagles (#16) and hope to secure a win.
