Regular Season Round 15: Contern - Musel Pikes 88-78

An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of 5th ranked Musel Pikes in a game in Luxembourg versus Contern (#8) 88-78. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Xavier Ford (201-93, college: Buffalo) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Jaylen Bland (190-93, college: Cal-Riverside) accounted for 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Contern players scored in double figures. American swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St.) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and forward Tom Steffen (195-93) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Musel Pikes in the defeat. Contern (6-9) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Musel Pikes keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Contern will meet league's leader Amicale in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Musel Pikes will play against Racing (#9) and hope to secure a win.
