Regular Season Round 13: Kagoshima - Aisin AW 98-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Kagoshima's (7-7) home victory over 7th ranked Aisin AW (5-9) in Renova 98-82 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Kagoshima especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Quite impressive performance for American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Five Kagoshima players scored in double figures. Kagoshima's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Fujita Shunsuke (187-93) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and center Eve Nyokozera (199-93) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Aisin AW. Kagoshima have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 7-7 record. Aisin AW lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Kagoshima will face league's second-placed Tokyo Excel. at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aisin AW will play against the league's leader Tokyo HT (#1) and hope to win that game.
