Regular Season Round 16: Cambados - Myrtia 71-82

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Myrtia and 11th ranked Cambados had identical 7-8 record. But Cambados was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Murcia 82-71 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Myrtia. Cambados was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cambados was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian-Argentinian swingman Juan-Ignacio Jasen (196-85) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side British forward Will Saunders (201-91, college: Charleston So.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Carlos Poyatos (207-94) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five Cambados players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Myrtia (8-8) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Real Canoe. Cambados lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Myrtia will face Agustinos-Leclerc (#12) in Leon in the next round. Cambados will play on the road against Albacete and hope to win that game.
