Regular Season Round 13: UKF Nitra - Piestanske C. 65-83

The game in Nitra was quite interesting. Second ranked Piestanske C. (11-1) played at the court of 5th ranked UKF Nitra (4-9). Piestanske C. did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 83-65 on Saturday. Piestanske C. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to UKF Nitra's 22. They outrebounded UKF Nitra 40-29 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Rebeka Mikulasikova (191-99) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Terezia Palenikova (178-95) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Piestanske C.'s coach Martin Pospisil used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Laura Dubenova (189-95) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Natalia Martiskova (170-99) added 13 points in the effort for UKF Nitra. Piestanske C. have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-1 record having just three points less than leader Good Angels. UKF Nitra lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Banska Bystrica. Piestanske C. are looking forward to face league's leader Good Angels in Kosice in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UKF Nitra will play again on the road against the league's second-placed Piestanske C. (#2) in Piestany and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
