Regular Season Round 16: USE Basket - Alba 89-97

There was a minor upset when 10th ranked USE Basket (7-9) lost to thirteenth ranked Alba (6-10) in Empoli 89-97 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for naturalized Argentinian swingman Santiago Boffelli (195-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Giacomo DellAgnello (201-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Gabriele Giarelli (200-93, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Lorenzo Raffaelli (190-99, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 17 points in the effort for USE Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. USE Basket's coach Giovanni Bassi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Alba moved-up to twelfth place in B, which they share with Rimini and Bernareggio. Loser USE Basket dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Alba will face higher ranked Valsesia (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
