Regular Season Round 23: Prievidza - Zilina 108-82

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Prievidza (14-9) smashed at home 9th ranked Zilina (4-19) 108-82. They outrebounded Zilina 46-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Prievidza players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Zilina's players. It was an exceptional evening for American Colin Voss (201-91, college: N.Texas) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). His fellow American import swingman Grant Sitton (206-93, college: Victoria) accounted for 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Prievidza players scored in double figures. Prievidza's coach Ryan Pannone felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Walter Wright (178, college: Montana) came up with 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Roman Skvasik (193-96) added 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) respectively for Zilina in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Prievidza. They maintain fifth place with 14-9 record. Zilina lost their eleventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 19 games lost. Prievidza will play against league's second-placed Kosice on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zilina will play against the league's leader Inter Bratislava (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
