Regular Season Round 15: Avenida - Al-Qazeres 74-65

LFB top team - Perfumerias Avenida (14-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Al-Qazeres (7-8) in Salamanca 74-65. Al-Qazeres trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 18-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-74 at the end of the game. Perfumerias Avenida made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Nigerian-American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: ProDep Management) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Montenegrin-American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Shayla Cooper (188-95, college: Ohio St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Joy Brown (180-93, college: Iona) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Al-Qazeres. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-1 record. Al-Qazeres at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Araski. Perfumerias Avenida are looking forward to face league's second-placed Argon Uni Girona on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Al-Qazeres will play against AE Sedis (#8) in Seu D'urgell and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
