Regular Season Round 18: Ammerud Bskt - Baerum Basket 65-87

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Ammerud Bskt (7-11) was smashed by seventh ranked Baerum Basket (8-11) in Oslo 87-65 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 17-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-65. Baerum Basket forced 19 Ammerud Bskt turnovers. It was a good game for Canadian guard Keith Omoerah (194-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Stian Mjos (183-89) contributed with 25 points and 7 assists for the winners. British center Morakinyo Williams (210-88, college: Citadel) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and guard Samuel Amed Diomande (193-88) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Ammerud Bskt. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Baerum Basket moved-up to sixth place. Ammerud Bskt at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Baerum Basket are looking forward to face Nidaros Jets (#7) in Tromdheim in the next round. Ammerud Bskt will play on the road against Tromso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
