Regular Season Round 15: GTK Gliwice - MKS DG 83-77

Round 15 in PLK means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Gliwice where host GTK (4-12) beat league's leader MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (12-4) 83-77 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. The best player for the winners was American point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import center Maverick Morgan (208-94, college: Illinois) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four GTK players scored in double figures. GTK's coach Pawel Turkiewicz used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward DJ Shelton (208-91, college: Washington St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian center Alexandar Mladenovic (207-84, agency: BeoExcell) added 14 points respectively. GTK moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Czarni. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Stelmet. They were replaced at the leadership position by Anwil. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play next round against strong Twarde Pierniki trying to make it back to the top of the standings. GTK will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Miasto Szkla in Krosno.
