Regular Season Round 15: Andorra - Burgos 91-99

Bottom-ranked Burgos managed to get a fourth victory. This time newly promoted Burgos won against tenth-ranked Andorra 99-91. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Andorra. The guests were already 14 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 27-20 last quarter charge of Andorra cut the lead to 99-91 at the end of the game. Burgos dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Andorra's 34. It was a good game for American guard John Jenkins (193-91, college: Vanderbilt, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. His fellow American import forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Serbian power forward Oliver Stevic (204-84, agency: BeoBasket) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American guard David Walker (197-93, college: Northeastern) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Andorra. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Burgos (4-11) moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Real Betis. Andorra at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with UCAM Murcia and Obradoiro. Burgos will play against bottom-ranked Real Betis (#18) in Sevilla in the next round. Andorra will play on the road against Movil Estudiantes (#13) in Madrid and hopes to get back on the winning track.
