Regular Season Round 13: Oviedo - RC Celta 50-75

LF2 top team - Real Celta Vigo (12-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Oviedo (0-13) 75-50. The game was mostly controlled by Real Celta Vigo. Oviedo was better in second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Oviedo to just 4 points in first quarter. Real Celta Vigo dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Oviedo's 28 and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Real Celta Vigo forced 22 Oviedo turnovers and had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Laura Alonso (179-93) fired 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Itziar German (184-86, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Oviedo's coach Enrique Urrutia gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Real Celta Vigo. They maintain first place in Group A with 12-1 record. Oviedo lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Real Celta Vigo's next round opponent will be Joventut LC (#7) in Barcelona which should be theoretically another easy game.
