The game in Vimpeli was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers HyPo (8-6) played at the court of fifth ranked ViVe (9-5). ViVe defeated HyPo 70-57. It looked good early as HyPo took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then ViVe had a 16-12 second period charge getting the lead and HyPo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-70. ViVe forced 19 HyPo turnovers. American swingman Pachis Roberts (180-94, college: Georgia) had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Noora Jarvikangas (184-94, college: ORU) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Estonian power forward Annika Koster (185-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Henna Salomaa (177-89, college: Oakland) scored 14 points. ViVe have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with PeKa. HyPo lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. ViVe will play against Peli-Karhut (#3) in Kotka in the next round, which may be the game of the day. HyPo will play at home against Helmi Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
