9th ranked Al Shamal (1-11) was outscored at home by third ranked Al Wakrah (9-3) with the biggest margin this round 100-84 on Sunday night. Al Wakrah made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (196-91, college: Missouri, agency: MKP Management) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-88, college: Furman) chipped in 28 points and 6 assists. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. Al Wakrah's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Justin Monroe (196-87, college: Morehouse) produced 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Elhag-Ali Saleh (191) added 22 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Al Wakrah. They maintain third place with 9-3 record behind leader Al Gharafa. Al Shamal lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Al Wakrah will meet at home Al Rayyan (#6) in the next round.
