Regular Season Round 15: IA - Snaefell 85-103

Very expected game in Akranes where bottom-ranked IA (0-12) was defeated by fifth ranked Snaefell (9-4) 103-85 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 68-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. IA was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Jon-Pall Gunnarsson (184-98) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Snaefell's coach Ingi Thor Steinthorsson used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard Marcus Dewberry (183, college: St.Leo, agency: Aspire Sports) with 19 points and 5 assists and Jon Frimannsson scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Snaefell moved-up to third place, which they share with Hamar and Vestri. IA at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Snaefell will face league's leader Skallagrimur in Borganes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. IA will play on the road against the league's second-placed Breidablik (#2) in Kopavogur and hopes to get finally their first victory.
