Regular Season Round 25: Shandong GS - Jilin NE T. 127-105

Very predictable result in Jinan where fourth ranked Golden Stars (18-7) smashed 17th ranked Jilin Tigers (6-19) 127-105 on Sunday. Golden Stars shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 54.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: N.Carolina) stepped up and scored 23 points and 9 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Qingpeng Zhang (187-81) chipped in 24 points. At the losing side American forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) responded with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and forward LiLong Cai (201-91) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Five Golden Stars and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Golden Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Guangdong ST and Jiangsu D. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the seventeenth position with 19 games lost. Golden Stars will face league's second-placed Flying Leopards in Yingkou in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against Eagles (#16) in Qingdao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
