Regular Season Round 25: Zhejiang GB - Qingdao E. 106-92

Everything went according to plan in Hangzhou where ninth ranked Golden Bulls (15-10) beat 16th ranked Eagles (7-18) 106-92 on Sunday. Golden Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 54. They outrebounded Eagles 55-40 including 40 on the defensive glass. Golden Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jarnell Stokes (201-94, college: Tennessee) chipped in 20 points and 16 rebounds. Four Golden Bulls players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and Haoran Ding scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Golden Bulls moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Eagles lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. Golden Bulls will face Gold Lions (#18) in Tianjin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play at home against Jilin Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
