Bottom-ranked Blue Whales managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige in Sichuan 105-96. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Wei Liu (190-80) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: Dutt Sports Services) produced 42 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Changdong Yu (206-91) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Blue Whales and four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Blue Whales (4-21) moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with Tianjin GL. Defending champion Xinjiang Flying Tige dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Zhejiang GB. Blue Whales will meet bottom-ranked Bayi Rockets (#20) in the next round. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play against Sharks (#13) and hope to secure a win.
