Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-10) was outscored by eighth ranked Magec Tias (6-7) in Madrid 67-42 on Sunday. The game without a history. Magec Tias led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpico 64 to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Magec Tias dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico 64's 26. Quite impressive performance for Argentinian power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Center Yaiza Garcia (190-88) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Irene Herradas (186-78) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Iranzu Drake added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Olimpico 64. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Magec Tias maintains eighth place in Group B with 6-7 record. Olimpico 64 lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Magec Tias will face higher ranked Real Canoe (#3) in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpico 64 will play at home against Almeria (#14) and hope to win that game.
