An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Beirut. Third ranked Al Riyadi faced second-ranked Champville. Host Al Riyadi (11-3) defeated guests from Dik El Mehdi (11-3) 86-79. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Champville. Strangely Champville outrebounded Al Riyadi 41-29 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Riyadi made 7 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and center Chris Daniels (205-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Guard Dewarick Spencer (192-82, college: Arkansas St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and center Robert Upshaw (213-94, college: Washington) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Champville players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Champville. Al Riyadi will meet Louaize (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Champville will play against Al Moutahed (#6) in Tripoli and hope to secure a win.
