Regular Season Round 12: Iraklis - Peristeri GS 59-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Thessaloniki. Top-ranked Peristeri GS faced second-best Iraklis. Guests from Athens (12-0) defeated host Iraklis (9-3) 72-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Iraklis. The game without a history. Peristeri GS led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who scored 26 points and 5 assists. Center Gaios Skordilis (207-87, agency: Diamond Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Dimitris Haritopoulos (205-83) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and Giannis Athanasoulas (202-87) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first position with 12-0 record. Iraklis at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Holargos. Peristeri GS are looking forward to face Kastoria (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Iraklis will play against Marousi (#10) in Athens and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
