Regular Season Round 13: JyWe - Espoo Basket 84-76

Everything went according to plan in Jyvaskyla where fifth ranked JyWe (8-5) beat 10th ranked Espoo Basket (3-10) 84-76 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-12. But Espoo Basket won second period 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JyWe looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Espoo Basket's players. Bahamas forward Winslo Barry (208-90, college: Incarnate Word) stepped up and scored 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and American point guard Glenn Stokes (170-76, college: American) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. At the losing side guard Tuomas Laine (182-97) responded with 16 points and American point guard Devante Jones (185-94, college: Life) scored 12 points. Espoo Basket's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. JyWe maintains fifth place in Division with 8-5 record. Loser Espoo Basket keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. JyWe will face higher ranked PeU-Basket (#3) in Pernio in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espoo Basket will play at home against the league's leader Loimaan Korikonkarit (#1) and hope to win that game.
