Regular Season Round 28: Correcaminos - Libertadores 91-98

Date: January 7, 2018
Bottom-ranked Libertadores managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the nine-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time newly promoted Libertadores won against fifth-ranked Correcaminos in Ciudad Victoria 98-91. Libertadores made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Correcaminos turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brent Jackson (192-94, college: Columbus St., agency: Paris Global Sports) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Travis Gabbidon (201-86, college: UTSA) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Jackson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Libertadores players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Cezar Guerrero (185-92, college: Fresno St.) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Kennedy Jones (188-89, college: Arlington Baptist) scored 23 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Correcaminos' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Libertadores maintains eleventh position with 6-20 record. Correcaminos at the other side keep the fifth place with 12 games lost. Libertadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play against Aaguacateros (#7) in Michoacan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
