Very expected game when 6th ranked Faenza (9-7) lost at home to first ranked Cento (15-1) 96-91 on Sunday. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Cento shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Faenza was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for naturalized Argentinian guard Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!). Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard Mattia Venucci (188-90) replied with 24 points and 5 assists and swingman Riccardo Iattoni (198-92) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Faenza. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cento have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in B with 15-1 record. Loser Faenza keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Cento will face Volpino (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Faenza will play against Reggio Emilia (#15) and hope to win that game.
