Regular Season Round 14: AZS UMCS - CCC Polkowice 63-81

BLK round 14 most important game was a victory of CCC Polkowice over one of their biggest challengers AZS UMCS 81-63 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of AZS UMCS. The game was mostly controlled by CCC Polkowice. AZS UMCS managed to win fourth quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for CCC Polkowice especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Israeli-American forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Greek forward Artemis Spanou (188-93, college: Robert Morris) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four CCC Polkowice players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian Dajana Butulija (174-86, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for AZS UMCS. AZS UMCS's coach Wojciech Szawarski rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. CCC Polkowice (9-4) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. AZS UMCS at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. CCC Polkowice are looking forward to face AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#8) in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round. AZS UMCS will play on the road against Basket Gdynia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
