No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (7-6) beat 10th ranked TS Ostrovia (3-10) in Gorzow Wlkp. 85-81 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TS Ostrovia won fourth quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to TS Ostrovia's 32. They outrebounded TS Ostrovia 41-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Miah Spencer (173-94, college: N.Carolina St.) notched 19 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Paulina Misiek (182-87, agency: Promotex) supported her with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even 12 points and 6 rebounds by Karolina Puss (181-94) did not help to save the game for TS Ostrovia. American center Breanna Lewis (196-94, college: Kansas St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Basket Gdynia. TS Ostrovia lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with JAS FBG. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will meet higher ranked CCC Polkowice (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TS Ostrovia will play against JAS FBG (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
