Regular Season Round 22: Sichuan - Bayi 93-92

A very close game took place in Sichuan between Whale and Bayi Kylin. Eleventh ranked Whale (8-14) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Bayi Kylin (10-12). Whale managed to escape with a 1-point win 93-92 on Monday evening. Whale made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Xuetong Zhao (185-94) who scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Belarusian center Yelena Levchenko (196-83, college: W.Virginia) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Mengran Sun (197-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Whale maintains eleventh position with 8-14 record. Bayi Kylin lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
