Regular Season Round 12: Franca - B.Cearense 79-59
Date: January 8, 2018
There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 10th ranked SKY/Basquete (4-6) was crushed by third ranked Vivo/Franca (9-3) 79-59. Vivo/Franca players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by SKY/Basquete's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The winners were led by the former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and international Leonardo Meindl (201-93) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 8 points and 9 rebounds by the former international center Leonardo Klassmann (208-89) did not help to save the game for SKY/Basquete. The former international center Bruno Fiorotto (208-84) added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vivo/Franca have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Paulistano. SKY/Basquete at the other side keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Vivo/Franca's next round opponent will be Vasco Da G. (#11) in Rio de Janeiro and are hoping to win another game. SKY/Basquete will play at home against Flamengo and hope to win that game.
