Regular Season Round 15: Beirut Club - CS Antonine 80-70

Rather expected game when 8th ranked CS Antonins (4-11) lost on the road to fifth ranked Beirut Club (8-7) 80-70 on Tuesday. Beirut Club outrebounded CS Antonins 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Bassel Bawji (203-89, college: Tulsa) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Chris Crawford (193-92, college: Memphis) accounted for 16 points and 9 assists for the winning side. American-Jordanian guard Rasheim Wright (192-81, college: District of Col.) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) and American Rashad McCants (193-84, college: N.Carolina, agency: Haylett Sports) added 15 points respectively for CS Antonins in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Beirut Club maintains fifth place with 8-7 record, which they share with Moutahed. CS Antonins lost their fourth game in a row. CS Antonins at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Beirut Club will meet bottom-ranked Tadamon (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. CS Antonins will play against Sagesse and hope to secure a win.
