An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Urumqi. Second ranked Xinjiang faced 3rd placed Xing Rui. Host Xinjiang (18-5) defeated guests from Taiyuan (16-7) 96-88. Xinjiang made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Lee Wang (170-92) chipped in 35 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Bahamas center Jonquel Jones (198-94, college: G.Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds and Tongtong Wu added 25 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Xinjiang have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-5 record behind leader Beijing. Xing Rui at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Shanghai. Xinjiang are looking forward to face Shanghai Dahua (#4) on the road in the next round. Xing Rui will play against Zhejiang Far East and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
