Regular Season Round 23: Kauhajoki - BC Nokia 91-95

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked BC Nokia (11-11) beat on the road 5th ranked Kauhajoki (12-10) 95-91. Kauhajoki was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 53-43 second half run of BC Nokia. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Dragan Labovic (207-87, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) helped adding 18 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American guard Marcus Allen (191-94, college: Stanford) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for BC Nokia. They maintain seventh place with 11-11 record. Kauhajoki lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost. BC Nokia will play against higher ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kauhajoki will play against the league's second-placed Helsinki Seagulls and will have a slim chance for a victory.
