Rather predictable result when twelfth ranked Lleida Basquet (8-10) won against at home 14th ranked Barca II (6-12) 95-78 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 56-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lleida Basquet made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Lleida Basquet outrebounded Barca II 38-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Lleida Basquet especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. It was a good game for Canadian-Jamaican point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-91, college: Calgary) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Senegalese center Papa Mbaye (209-90) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Lleida Basquet players scored in double figures. Point guard Pol Figueras (187-98) replied with 7 points and 8 assists and swingman Aleix Font (192-98) added 15 points in the effort for Barca II. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lleida Basquet moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Palencia. Barca II lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Lleida Basquet will face Palma (#15) in S'Arenal in the next round. Barca II will play at home against Caceres Basket and hope to win that game.
