Regular Season Round 13: Quimper - Fos-Provence 68-70

Seventeenth-ranked Quimper UJAP (2-11) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Provence Basket (9-4) on Friday. The visitors from Fos-sur-Mer managed to secure only two-point victory 70-68. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 22-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Provence Basket had a 25-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) chipped in 17 points. Kevin Mondesir (204-91) produced 19 points and forward Mathieu Tensorer (198-83) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Provence Basket. They moved-up to sixth place. Quimper UJAP lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Provence Basket will face Caen (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Quimper UJAP will play against Chorale de Roanne (#3) and hope to win that game.
