There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Caen (6-7) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Nantes (6-7) 95-91 on Friday. Nantes outrebounded Caen 45-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. Caen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. American-German center Waverly Austin (211-91, college: Oregon, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. American power forward Jarvis Williams (198-93, college: Murray St., agency: Octagon Europe) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Thomas Cornely (190-91, agency: Octagon Europe) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Nantes and five Caen players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nantes. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Caen and Denain. Nantes will face league's leader Entente Orleans 45 at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
