Regular Season Round 12: Kastela - Zadar 47-97
Date: January 12, 2018
Bottom-ranked Kastela is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to second ranked KK Zadar (10-1) 97-47. The game without a history. KK Zadar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KK Zadar dominated on the defensive end, holding Kastela to just 7 points in third quarter. KK Zadar dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kastela's 28. They outrebounded Kastela 41-21 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. KK Zadar players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Kastela's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Ive Ivanov (200-85, agency: PEPI SPORT) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and power forward Domagoj Vukovic (207-93) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five KK Zadar players scored in double figures. KK Zadar's coach Aramis Naglic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Dino Sipic (201-88) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Aco Mandic (203-84) scored 16 points. KK Zadar have an impressive ten-game winning streak. KK Zadar maintains second position with 10-1 record behind leader Cedevita. Newly promoted Kastela still closes the standings with 11 games lost.
