Regular Season Round 16: Heffingen - Etzella 64-85

Very expected game when 10th ranked Heffingen (2-13) was crushed at home by third ranked Etzella (11-4) 85-64. Etzella dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Heffingen's 34. They outrebounded Heffingen 41-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Etzella players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American power forward Derrick Barden (196-92, college: N.Colorado) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: Savannah St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Ryan Logan (201-94, college: Stonehill) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Heffingen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Etzella have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Basket Esch. Heffingen lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Etzella's next round opponent will be league's leader Amicale in Steinsel and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heffingen will play on the road against Racing (#9) in Luxembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
