Regular Season Round 19: Spojnia - R8 Krakow 81-78

Fifth-ranked R8 Krakow (12-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Spojnia (17-1) in Stargard on Saturday. Spojnia managed to secure only three-point victory 81-78. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of R8 Krakow. Forward Hubert Pabian (201-89, agency: Promotex) fired 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Dawid Brek (187-89, agency: Promotex) chipped in 15 points and 9 assists. Spojnia's coach Krzysztof Koziorowicz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo.) produced 26 points and Patryk Pelka (202-89) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spojnia maintains first place with 17-1 record. Newly promoted R8 Krakow keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Spojnia are looking forward to face Sokol Lancut (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. R8 Krakow will play against Notec Inowr. and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
