Regular Season Round 14: Alcobendas - Gran Canaria 67-87

LF2 top team - Gran Canaria (14-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Alcobendas (9-5) 87-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Alcobendas. Gran Canaria forced 25 Alcobendas turnovers. American point guard Starr Breedlove (168-93, college: UTEP) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 4 assists. The other American import guard Erica Covile (185, college: Temple) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Forward Sheila Mangada (172-85, agency: ProDep Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and center Aitana Cuevas (189-86) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alcobendas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 14-0 record. Alcobendas at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Gran Canaria's next round opponent will be Olimpico 64 (#14) in Madrid which should be another easy win for them. Alcobendas will play on the road against Valencia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
